DDN Executive to Share Innovative Pharmaceutical Distribution Approaches at LogiPharma European Conference
Michael Bartholomew invited to prestigious speaking engagement in Geneva, Switzerland April 24
GERMANTOWN, Wis. – April 7, 2008 – DDN (Drug Distribution Network) Pharmaceutical Logistics, an industry leader in pharmaceutical distribution services, has announced DDN Vice President of Sales and Marketing Michael Bartholomew has accepted an invitation to speak at LogiPharma Europe 2008, the 7th Annual European Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Conference.
Bartholomew will speak during the April 24 session of the conference, which is being held in Geneva, Switzerland. His comments will examine best practices in supply chain management, with an emphasis on turning ‘supply chain’ into ‘value chain.’
“This is a prestigious invitation that confirms DDN’s growing impact in the arena of international pharmaceutical distribution,” Bartholomew commented. “We are excited to have the opportunity to discuss our innovative approaches on the world stage.”
Specifically, Bartholomew’s address will focus on:
- Identifying the cost and value drivers for primary activities in the supply chain
- Rolling out value chain across internal and outsourced distribution networks
- Exploiting upstream and downstream information flows to create improvements in the value chain
Bartholomew also points out supply chain conversions, such as those innovations practiced by DDN, serve to lower overall healthcare costs.
“The pharmaceutical distribution system is undergoing rapid changes all over the world, and DDN is at the forefront in identifying what our clients need to do to boost value while minimizing costs,” Bartholomew said. “The centerpiece of our business model focuses on improving value at every step of the chain, so the product gains in value while minimizing costs. Consumers then enjoy the benefits of a streamlined, efficient system of distributing vital pharmaceutical supplies.”
A 20-year veteran executive in the pharmaceutical industry, Bartholomew joined DDN Pharmaceutical Logistics in 2006 as the Director of Sales and Account Management. In October, 2007, Bartholomew was appointed Vice President of Sales & Marketing.
